Back to the Anniversary Party: Hot 97 DJ, Mister Cee, announced the party for weeks on Hot 97. The city was hyped. It was a beautiful night for Bed-stuy and the club was packed wall-to-wall. When Diddy and friends (Busta Rhymes, Fabolous, Red Cafe, Rick Ross) took the stage, they all wore black t-shirts with Invisible Bully 03.09.10 on the front. They performed the “Angels” Remix with Diddy and Rick Ross, Busta performed “Victory”, Fab did a few of his hits and Mister Cee played all of B.I.G.’s hit as everyone sang along.
Backstage were industry insiders, D-Roc (Biggie’s right hand man, Lil Kim’s ex-manager) and James Cruz (famed marketing genius), who were also wearing the Invisible Bully t-shirts. It was asked what do the t-shirts mean? D-Roc just smiled and told us the Invisible Bully t-shirts marked the start of a new era and that we would have to wait to see what he meant.
Shout out to Notorious B.I.G., Diddy, Busta Rhymes, Fabolous, Red Cafe, Rick Ross, Mister Cee and D-Roc for taking it back to Brooklyn and making history that night! Respect! Story by SIMON SAUCE
For those hip hop scientist or record keepers, you know of Damion ‘D-Roc’ Butler. For those of you that are not, Damion "d-roc" butler is the dude that went to jail for Biggie Smalls in Smalls' early days.
